Drone demonstration for farmers, interaction of government department representatives with local citizens also taking place

Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) Information Education and Communication (IEC) vans are reaching out to various corners of Goa. This campaign is organized all over the country to make citizens aware of the different welfare schemes started by the central government, inform them about the provisions of the schemes and thereby register them as beneficiaries as per the terms and conditions.
The information dissemination campaign has reached in the Panchayat areas of Bicholim and Mayem constituencies. On the occasion of the IEC van reaching the area, a program was held at Sawant Hall, Karapur in Karapur-Sarvan Panchayat. Mayem MLA Premendra Shet, along with Zilla Parishad member Mahesh Sawant, Sarpanch Dattaprasad Kharkhande, panchayat members, government officials and others welcomed the van, in presence of enthusiastic villagers who also accorded a warm welcome to the van. A free health check-up camp was organized by the health department on the occasion.
Speaking at the function, MLA Premendra Shet said that the PM's vision was to make the country a developed nation by 2047. In this connection, the government wants the welfare schemes to reach out to all eligible beneficiaries, he added. "In the history of India, this is the first time, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, that the benefits of social schemes that have not reached the common people are delivered to their doorsteps", said MLA Premendra Shet. The Block Development Officer of Bicholim Taluka, Naresh Manjrekar, also spoke on the occasion. A number of beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana and agriculture schemes shared their experiences with others.
A free health check-up camp was also organized at Cavelossim Navelim Village Panchayat of South Goa today, as part of the VBSY campaign.
The representatives of 14 government departments and agencies took part in the program organized at Cavelossim Navelim panchayat, where they informed the citizens about various welfare schemes. These include High flame Gas Services, Department of Agriculture, Woman and Child Development, Land and Survey Records, Directorate of Industries Trade and Commerce, Bank of Baroda, Directorate of Fisheries, Department of Civil Supplies, Tribal Welfare Department, Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Directorate of Planning Statistics and Evaluation, Registrar of Corporate Societies and Directorate of Social Welfare. The Director of District Rural Development Agency Deepali Naik, Swayampurna Mitra Sumant V.Khaunte, Sarpanch Dixon Cyril Vaz, Dy. Sarpanch Rinku Lobo and panchayat members were present on the occasion. Presence of more than 100 local citizens was marked today. Two Self-help groups of Cavelossim and Carmona Orlim enacted two informative plays on the subject of government welfare schemes. A drone demonstration of spraying of fertilizers and pesticides also took place.
