CBIC and its affiliated organisations mounted Special Campaign 3.0 in mission-mode from 2nd to 31st October 2023


Disposal of 924 Public Grievances, 354 Public Grievance Appeals and 22 MP references

Review of 63,345 physical files and weeding out of 32,044 such files

Review of 34,029 e-files and closing 3,662 such files

1,976 cleanliness campaign events organised in the office premises and public places

Around Rs. 15.50 lakh revenue generated during the campaign with 83,428 kg scrap disposed off, resulting in freeing up of additional office space of 1,86,887 square feet

Disposal of 3.66 crore foreign-origin cigarette sticks, 710 kg narcotic substances and 9,000 kg ganja

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Ministry of Finance, and all organisations under it participated in mission-mode from 2nd October to 31st October, 2023 towards achieving the targets set under the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) 3.0.

Over the last month, CBIC and its affiliated offices strived with a mission to institutionalise Swachhata and minimise pendency in key areas of work. Special focus was on disposal of public grievances and better office space management by disposing of unused items including seized goods like narcotic substances and foreign-origin cigarettes.

As part of Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada, CBIC officials took ‘Swachhata Pledge’ administered by Shri Sanjay Malhotra, Secretary, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, on 22nd September, 2023, for a neat and clean India. He asked all senior officials to ensure achievement of targets of the campaign. With the collective effort of the entire organisation, a massive drive under Special Campaign 3. 0 was carried out in all regions of the country.

The extensive efforts put in by all CBIC formations has resulted in the surpassing of all targets of the campaign as detailed below: -

  • Disposal of 924 Public Grievances, 354 Public Grievance Appeals and 22 MP references.
  • Review of 63,345 physical files and weeding out of 32,044 such files.
  • Review of 34,029 e-files and closing 3,662 such files.
  • 1,976 cleanliness campaign events organised in the office premise and public places.
  • Around Rs. 15.50 lakh revenue generated during the campaign with 83,428 kg scrap disposed off, resulting in freeing up of additional office space of 1,86,887 square feet.
  • Disposal of 3.66 crore foreign-origin cigarette sticks, 710 kg narcotic substances and 9,000 kg ganja.

Several best practices came to the fore which were highlighted on CBIC’s social media platforms. During the campaign, more than 512 messages were posted on ‘X’ and other social media platforms through the official social media handle of CBIC and the field offices to spread the message of Swachhata. CBIC will continue to endeavour to institutionalise the norms set under Special Campaign 3.0 and continue such efforts throughout the year.
