India Post Delhi Circle begins week-long celebrations on World Post Day

Delhi Circle celebrating World Post Day on 09th October, 2023 during this National Postal Week-2023 scheduled to be held on 09.10.2023 to 13.10.2023 with following days of celebration…

  1.   9th October, 2023                   (Monday)              - World Post Day
  2.           10th October, 2023         (Tuesday)              - Vittiya Sashaktikaran Diwas
  3.          11th October, 2023         (Wednesday)           - Philately Day
  4.          12th October, 2023         (Thursday)              - Mails & Parcels Day
  5.          13th October, 2023         (Friday)                 - Antyodaya Diwas.

 

World Post Day is celebrated each year on 9 October. The event was declared by the 1969 Universal Postal Congress in Tokyo as a means to mark the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) creation in 1874. The purpose of World Post Day is to bring awareness to the Post’s role in the everyday lives of people and businesses, as well as its contribution to global social and economic development. The theme for World Post Day 2023 is Together for Trust : “Collaborating for a Safe and Connected Future”

Mail Operation

  • 30 DAK NIRYAT KENDRA are functional in Delhi Circle and 129 on boarded customers are sending their articles through these DNKs. These were opened to facilitate the customers availing clearance under  Postal Bill of Export.

Business Development

  • Postal Department has the largest number of Aadhaar Enrollment Kendra (AEKs) in India. Delhi Circle has 236 Aadhaar enabled post office for facilitating customers/public.  Such services are to be made available at all Branch Office (BOs) level in future. On 13th October, 2023 (Antyodaya Diwas), Delhi Circle is celebrating as Maha Login Day in Aadhaar.
  • Delhi Circle has 5 POPSKs doing passport and Police Clearance Certificate. We are planning to do the appointment double in future.
  • 2,755 bulk Customers are availing premium services (SP/Biz. Parcel/Logistics/ Magazine Post/etc.) in Delhi Circle. The services of booking of Magazine Post have been extended w.e.f. October, 2023 and all the circles can now book Magazine Post meant for delivery PAN INDIA. Earlier such services were limited.
  • Special arrangements for booking, dispatch, delivery and monitoring of Speed Post Insured Articles of EO/AO and APFC posts in EPFO Examination-2023, NDA/NA & CDS Examination, CBSE, SSC, IGNOU, NIOS, NIELIT and Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination are done. 320 GeM Sellers onboarded and revenue 27,26,689/- achieved till 31.08.2023.

PHILATELY

  • We have a Philately Bureau at Sansad Marg Head Post Office, now a “Philately Gallery” at Red Fort has also been opened for general public. Experiencing massive footfall of visitors and foreign tourists since its opening.
  • During the National Postal Week-2023, on the Philately Day i.e. 11-10-2023, various workshops and seminars are being organized by all postal units of Delhi Circle to create buzz among the students about Philately as a fascinating hobby. Apart from this, Delhi Circle is also planning to issue few special covers on Philately Day.    

Postal Life Insurance

  • Postal Life Insurance is the oldest life insurance provider in the country. Delhi Postal Circle is having 142763 Postal Life Insurance and 18264 Rural Postal Life Insurance policies. During the present financial year, 3490 PLI and 674 RPLI insurants have been added. A special campaign “ Dak Community Development Programme (DCDP)” is being organized by all Units of Delhi Circle on monthly basis to reach out at door step of residents for promoting the various Govt. beneficiary schemes in collaboration with State Govt. offices and local public representatives etc. During last month, thousand of girls, women, unbanked citizens etc. availed various services through this platform in their locality itself.  

Financial Services

Department of Posts provides National Savings Schemes facilities viz., SB, RD, TD, KVP, NSC, MIS, SCSS, SSA, PPF and MSSC.  Besides, Department also provide Jan Suraksha Schemes viz., Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojna (APY).  All the contemporary banking services are offered by Department of Posts viz., ATM, Core Banking Services, Net Banking, Mobile Banking etc. 

  • Mahila Samman Savings Certificate (MSSC)

    For women empowerment, a new scheme Mahila Samman Savings Certificate 2023 (MSSC) was launched by the Government vide notification dated 31.03.2023.  Till date 18,08,710 accounts to tune of Rs. 11546 Crores have been opened across the country and 33,154 accounts to tune of Rs. 405 Crores have been opened in Delhi. 

  • Special Initiative for opening Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts by Delhi Circle

          Delhi Circle took an initiative towards the social reform for building financial capability of girl children by opening SSA accounts of all girl children under “Sampoorna Sukanya Samraddh School” by Delhi Postal Circle.
