The ships of First Training Squadron (1TS) - INS Tir, INS Sujata and CGS Sarathi visited Port Klang, Malaysia from 30 Sep to 03 Oct 23 as part of Indian Navy's long range training deployment to South East Asia. During the visit, several interactions including professional engagements, training exchanges and sports fixtures were held. The trainees of 1TS visited National Hydrographic Centre and facilities at Lumut Naval Base and interacted with the trainees of Royal Malaysian Navy.

 The Senior Officer 1TS, Capt Sarvpreet Singh along with Commanding Officers of ships called on Rear Admiral Dato’ Ee (Yee) Tai Peng Chief of Staff,Operations and Strategy at National Hydrography Centre. A reception was hosted onboard INS Tir and Sujata for RMN officers and members of the Indian diaspora. High Commissioner of India, Shri BN Reddy along with members of the diplomatic community attended the reception.

 The ships were open to school children who were familarised with the training facilities and capabilities onboard. The visit of 1TS has further strengthened the bilateral engagements and Naval cooperation between the two Navies.
