Walkway For Differently Abled On NHs

MoRTH has issued detailed guidelines for pedestrian facilities on National Highways in urban areas for differently abled persons such as footpath with kerb, kerb ramps with flared sides, tactile pavers on footpath, zebra crossings with embossed texture, audible crossing signals etc.
However, ambulances are given priority over other vehicles while crossing toll plazas on National Highways.
This information was given by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
