Shri Sudhansh Pant, Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Chairman, Development and Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC), administered the oath of office to Shri Narayan Dewasi and Shri Swaroop Singh Banjara, the newly appointed Members of the Governing Body of the Board, at the Ministry’s Office here today.

The newly appointed Members took the oath to bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India and to uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India. They also pledged to discharge their duties as Members of the Board faithfully and conscientiously and to do right to all persons belonging to De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic (DNT) Communities in accordance with the Terms of Reference of the Board, without fear or favour, affection or ill-will.

Shri Narayan Dewasi and Shri Swaroop Singh Banjara were appointed as Members of the Governing Body of DWBDNC by the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, for a tenure of three years from the date of joining or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shri Swaroop Singh Banjara assumed charge on 17 September whileas Shri Narayan Dewasi assumed charge on 25 September 2026.

Secretary, Shri Sudhansh Pant expressed hope that the appointment of the new Members will strengthen the Governing Body of DWBDNC in carrying forward its mandate and advancing initiatives for the welfare, socio-economic development and empowerment of De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities.

The Development and Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities works towards addressing the welfare and development concerns of these communities and supporting initiatives aimed at their socio-economic development and empowerment.

The initiatives of DWBDNC are aimed at furthering the welfare, socio-economic development and empowerment of De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities.
