The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), Manesar, celebrated a landmark milestone today 20 years of service to India’s automotive industry, with a high‑profile event attended by senior dignitaries, industry leaders, and media representatives. 

The occasion was graced by, Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister of Heavy Industry and Steel Shri H. D. Kumarswamy, Hon’ble Minister of State for Heavy Industry and Steel Shri Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, Dr. Hanif Qureshi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries Shri Prem Chandra Maurya, Senior officials from MHI, MoRTH, MoA&FW, MEITY, MoP, MNRE, CAQM, BEE, and along with BIS  past Presidents of SIAM and ACMA, along with senior industry delegates and media representatives.
 

The event featured an industry dialogue on the PM e‑Drive scheme, a flagship initiative envisioned under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to accelerate India’s transition towards clean, sustainable, and self‑reliant mobility. 

A major highlight was the inauguration of ICAT’s indigenous Agri Machinery Test Facility, a first‑of‑its‑kind initiative aimed at supporting farmers by ensuring reliable, certified equipment for agricultural modernization. This expansion marks ICAT’s evolution into a multi‑sectoral testing and certification hub, bridging automotive and agricultural technologies.  

Director ICAT Shri Saurabh Dalela in his opening remarks mentioned  that over the past two decades, ICAT has emerged as a pillar of India’s automotive ecosystem, contributing to innovation, safety, and sustainability.

 

The celebration also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Transport, nodal ministries, CMVR test agencies, ICAT’s suppliers, collaborators, partners, consultants, past CEOs of NATRiP/NAB, former Directors of ICAT, and the dedicated colleagues of ICAT who have collectively enabled this achievement.
