The Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) Shri Kishor Makwana, will be conferred the “Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Jan Seva Puraskar 2026” tomorrow in recognition of the Commission’s dedicated service and significant contribution to social justice.

The Prime Point Foundation and the Sansad Ratna Awards Committee have nominated the National Commission for Scheduled Castes for the honour. The award will be presented during the 16th edition of the Sansad Ratna Awards 2026 in Delhi. The award ceremony is being organised by the civil society.

Under the leadership of Shri Kishor Makwana, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes has strengthened its role as an effective institution committed to protecting the constitutional rights and interests of Scheduled Caste communities. The Commission has actively worked to ensure justice, dignity, equality and social empowerment for members of these communities.

The Jury of the Sansad Ratna Awards Committee decided to confer the award in recognition of the Commission’s dedicated service to the nation and the cause of social justice. The Committee’s communication acknowledged the notable contribution made by the Commission through the committed efforts and leadership of Shri Kishor Makwana.

The honour reflects the Commission’s continued commitment to safeguarding the rights of Scheduled Castes and advancing an equitable, dignified and inclusive society.
