NSIC implements various schemes that greatly benefit MSMEs & entrepreneurs in Andhra Pradesh

NSIC has signed various MoUs for supply of raw materials to MSMEs in Andhra Pradesh for commercial activities

The National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC), a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) provides integrated support for promotion and development of MSMEs across the country including Konaseema district of Andhra Pradesh through its various schemes. These schemes inter-alia include Raw Material Assistance, Raw Material Distribution, Marketing Support, credit facilitation, ICT digital services, skill development and entrepreneurship development, etc. NSIC Branch offices located at Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam cater the needs of MSMEs of Konaseema district.

The number of MSMEs/entrepreneurs assisted and benefited under various schemes of NSIC in Andhra Pradesh during the last three years and current year are as under:

NSIC implements the National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) Scheme of Government of India to promote entrepreneurship amongst the SCs/STs and to facilitate fulfilment of the mandated 4% procurement from SC/ST owned Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) under the Public Procurement Policy for MSEs. Several initiatives have been taken up, such as subsidy upto Rs. 25 lakh through Special Credit Linked Capital Subsidy on institutional finance for procurement of plant & machinery and equipment; skilling and capacity building program; market linkage through Special Market Assistance Scheme; and to enhance competitiveness, reimbursement of testing fees, membership fee of Export Promotion Councils and Government promoted e-commerce portals, etc. 1446 SC/ST entrepreneurs from the State of Andhra Pradesh  have availed the benefit under the Scheme during the last three years and current year.

NSIC has entered into MoU with Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), BITARA Private Ltd., Shree Cement, Sri Kanya Steel Corporation for supply of raw materials to MSMEs in Andhra Pradesh for commercial activities.

Several steps have been taken by NSIC to expand its reach and effectiveness of its services in Andhra Pradesh including Konaseema district which inter-alia include:

  1. Organisation of awareness programmes, Team Initiative workshops, Campaigns and seminars to inform MSMEs about NSIC schemes
  2. Provide credit and raw material assistance to ease financial constraints on MSMEs.
  3. Organisation of Entrepreneurship Development and Skill Training Programmes through partner institutions.
  4. Implementation of National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) Scheme to enhance participation of SC/ST entrepreneurs in public procurement
  5. Facilitating market linkages through trade fairs, exhibitions, etc.
  6. Collaboration with State agencies and district authorities for effective delivery of support services.
