Three Mines put up for Auction on Second day of Commercial Coal Mine Auctions

On second day of auctions under 9th round and 8th round, 3 mines were put up for auctions. Out of the three mines, one mine is coking coal mine and 2 are non-coking coal mines. All 3 coal mines are partially explored mines having total geological reserves of 388.32 Million Tonnes and have received good competition among bidders.
Coal Ministry is on the path of achieving ‘Atmanirbhar’ in coal sector. Under Coking Coal Mission, coking coal mines have also been included for auctions. Domestic production of coking coal is important for country to reduce import.
