At 1.86 Lakh Cases, Daily New Cases are lowest in last 44 days
 

  • India’s Active Caseload has now reduced to 23,43,152. Active Cases have decreased since its last peak on 10th May 2021.A net decline of 76,755 is witnessed in the last 24 hours and active cases are now only 8.50%of the country's tot Positive Cases.

 

  • 1,86,364 Daily New Cases were registered in the last 24 hours.

 

  •  India’s Daily Recoveries continue to outnumber the Daily New Cases for the 15th consecutive day. 2,59,459 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.

 

  •  Out of people infected since beginning of the pandemic 2,48,93,410 people have already received from COVID-19 & 2,59,459 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours. This constitute an overall recovery rate of 90.34%.A total of 20,70,508 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country and cumulatively India has conducted 33.90 crore tests so far.

 

  • While on one side testing has been enhanced across the country, a continued decline in weekly case positivity is noticed. Weekly Positivity Rate is currently at 10.42% while the Daily Positivity rate has reduced and is at 9.00% today. It has remained less than 10% for 4 consecutive days now.

More than 22.46 crore vaccine doses provided to States/UTs
 

Government of India has so far provided, both through the free of cost category and through direct state procurement category, more than 22.46 crore vaccine doses (22,46,08,010) to States/UTs.

Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 20,48,04,853 doses (as per data available at 8 AM today).

More than 1.84 crore COVID Vaccine doses (1,84,92,677) are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.

More than 1.66 Cr beneficiaries of age group 18-44 Vaccinated so far

More than 28 lakh Vaccine Doses administered today till 7 pm

The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country exceeded 20.86 Cr (20,86,12,834) as per the 7 pm provisional report today.

13,36,309 beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years received their first dose and 275 beneficiaries of the same age group received their second dose of COVID vaccine today. Cumulatively 1,66,47,122 across 37 States/UTs since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive. Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years for their first dose of COVID vaccine.

Indian Immunologicals Limited to start production of drug substance for Covaxin under Mission COVID Suraksha
 

In a bid to augment the vaccine production, the Government has decided to support some public sector companies with grants under the Mission COVID Suraksha. One such company is the Hyderabad based Indian Immunological limited (IIL), which a facility under the PSU, National Dairy Development Board.

A technical collaboration agreement has been reached between IIL and Bharat Biotech, for IIL to supply of the drug substance required the for manufacturing Covaxin Vaccine to Bharat Biotech. The Managing Director of Indian Immunological Limited, Dr K Anand Kumar said that the IIL is planning to start the production of drug substance for Covaxin from next month, June 15, and send out the first batch to Bharat Biotech limited by July.

Busting Myths of Vaccination

Production of Covaxin Vaccine to hit 6 Cr by July/August under Atmanirbhar Bharat 3.0 Mission COVID Suraksha


Government of India has been supporting the efforts of States and UTs for an effective Vaccination drive under the ‘Whole of Government” approach since 16th January this year. In order to streamline the availability of the vaccine doses, Central Government has been constantly in touch with the vaccine manufacturers and has opened up different procurement options for states/UTs since May 2021.

There have been some unfound media reports on unaccounted vaccine dosesofBharat Biotech. These reports are incorrect and are not supported by full information on the matter.

The claims of Bharat Biotech having 6 Crore doses is an error of comprehension among some quarters reporting the said matter.

Update on COVID Relief Aid

Government of India has been receiving international cooperation of COVID-19 relief medical supplies and equipment since 27th April 2021 from different countries/organisations. These are being promptly dispatched/delivered to the States and UTs.

Cumulatively, 18,016 Oxygen Concentrators; 19,085 Oxygen Cylinders; 19 Oxygen Generation Plants; 15,206 ventilators/ BiPAP; ~7.7 L Remdesivir vials, ~12L Favipiravir tablets delivered/ dispatched through road and air, from 27th April 2021 to 26th May 2021.

Oxygen Expresses now touch 41 stations in 39 cities/towns in 15 states across the country

Indian Railways is continuing its journey of bringing relief by delivering Liquid Medical Oxygen(LMO) to various states across the country. So far, Indian Railways has delivered more than 19408 MT of LMO in more than 1162 tankers to various states across the country.

On Mission Mode, Till now Oxygen Expresses offloaded LMO in around 39 cities/towns in 15 states across the country namely Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, Bareilly, Gorakhpur & Agra in Uttar Pradesh, Sagar, Jabalpur, Katni& Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, Nagpur, Nashik, Pune, Mumbai &Solapur in Maharashtra, Hyderabad in Telangana, Faridabad &Gurugram in Haryana, Tuglakabad, Delhi Cantt& Okhla in Delhi, Kota &Kanakpara in Rajasthan, Bengaluru in Karnataka, Dehradun in Uttarakhand, Nellore, Guntur, Tadipatri& Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Ernakulam in Kerala, Tiruvallur, Chennai, Tuticorin, Coimbatore & Madurai in Tamil Nadu, Bhatinda&Phillaur in Punjab, Kamrup in Assam and Ranchi in Jharkhand.
