Maintenance of Railway Stations

All Stations including small stations over Indian Railways are maintained as per the laid down norms. Need based maintenance is ensured on all stations for proper upkeep.

Further, maintenance/improvement of Railway Stations is an ongoing and continuous process and works in this regard are undertaken as per requirement and subject to inter-se priority and availability of funds.

Ministry of Railways are providing passenger amenities as per scheme specified in the comprehensive instructions on Minimum Essential Amenities for passengers, based on the category of the station. The recent instructions were issued in 2018.

The details of funds allocated under Budgetary Sources for providing Passenger Amenities, over Indian Railways during the last five years i.e.2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20 and current year 2020-21 are as under:-
