As the global energy industry navigates evolving energy security priorities and the need for affordable and sustainable energy systems, the conference programme at India Energy Week (IEW) 2027 will provide a platform for strategic dialogue, technical knowledge exchange and collaboration across the energy value chain.

The fifth edition of India Energy Week is scheduled for 28–31 January 2027 at the New Town Convention Centre, Kolkata. The conference programme will bring together international energy leaders, policymakers, investors, engineers, researchers and technology innovators to examine the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of energy.

The 2027 edition, bearing the theme ‘Unlocking Innovation, Securing Energy, Shaping Tomorrow,’ will build on the event’s pre-eminent status in the global energy ecosystem by facilitating dialogue on the most pressing challenges facing the energy sector.

The conference programme is expected to attract more than 6,500 delegates. Its two principal components, the Strategic Conference and the Technical Conference, will connect policymakers with industry leaders, alongside discussions on technical research, innovation and operational applications.

The event is expected to feature more than 75,000 energy professionals and 700 exhibiting companies from over 120 countries, providing a platform for collaboration across markets and technologies.

Previous editions of India Energy Week have brought together senior government leaders and energy executives from major energy-producing and consuming economies. Seventeen Ministers and Deputy Ministers from countries including the UAE, Canada, the Netherlands, Oman, Brunei, Myanmar and Tanzania participated in IEW 2026, along with international organisations such as the International Energy Forum, BIMSTEC and the Eurasian Economic Union.

India Energy Week has grown rapidly since its debut in Bengaluru in 2023, expanding in scale, international participation and the breadth of issues addressed. At its fourth edition, held in Goa in 2026, the event brought together 6,500 conference delegates and other participants from more than 120 countries.

Strategic Conference: Charting pathways for the global energy system

The IEW 2027 Strategic Conference will bring together energy ministers, policymakers, industry leaders, C-suite executives and innovators to explore new pathways towards secure, inclusive and affordable global energy systems.

With more than 300 speakers and over 100 sessions planned, the Strategic Conference will provide a high-level forum for examining the priorities shaping the global energy landscape. Discussions will bring together perspectives from across the energy value chain, with a focus on collaboration, investment, innovation and the practical challenges of meeting growing energy needs while advancing sustainability.

The conference will also showcase India’s role in developing future low-carbon economies and unveil opportunities for collaboration among stakeholders. By bringing policymakers and industry decision-makers together, the programme will support dialogue on the partnerships, technologies and strategic choices needed to address the evolving requirements of energy-producing and consuming economies.

Technical Conference: Advancing research and real-world applications

The fifth edition of the India Energy Week Technical Conference will convene engineers, researchers and technology leaders from across the global energy value chain to exchange knowledge, insight and innovation.

Curated by a Technical Committee comprising more than 100 international experts, the programme will feature over 250 expert speakers and panellists across more than 50 technical sessions and workshops. It will showcase cutting-edge research, breakthrough technologies and real-world applications across 20 core technical categories, spanning established energy operations and emerging technologies.

The categories cover a broad range of industry priorities, including AI and digitalisation; biofuels and alternative fuels; carbon capture, utilisation and storage; clean cooking; climate technology and renewables; energy transition and decarbonisation; future mobility; hydrogen production, development and end use; hydrocarbons exploration, production and development; natural gas and LNG processing, operations and technology; refining and petrochemicals technology; logistics, storage and infrastructure; health, safety, security and environment; and utilities and power generation.

The programme also addresses organisational readiness and operational excellence, alongside other technical areas critical to the energy industry. By bringing together specialists working across these disciplines, the Technical Conference will facilitate the exchange of research findings, industry experience and best practices.
