The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) has completed the preparatory phase of Special Campaign 6, conducted from September 16 to September 30, 2026, to institutionalise cleanliness (Swachhata), minimise pendency and promote good governance. Building on its continued efforts to improve administrative efficiency, all constituent units, public sector undertakings and aided institutions under the Department have finalised their baseline targets for the campaign. The Department is now implementing the Main Phase of the campaign from October 2 to October 31, 2026, with daily progress being monitored through the SCDPM portal.
During the preparatory phase, detailed groundwork was undertaken to identify campaign sites, streamline pending references and categorise e-inventory. A total of 312 campaign sites have been identified across establishments for intensive cleanliness drives and space optimisation. Under pendency and grievance redressal, the campaign targets the resolution of 5 references from Members of Parliament, 2 Inter-Ministerial Cabinet (IMC) proposals, 47 public grievances registered on CPGRAMS, 42 parliamentary assurances, 1 State Government reference, 5 Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) references, 26 public grievance appeals and 25 items relating to easing of rules and processes.

As part of record management, the Department has scheduled a systematic review of 14,003 physical files and 3,408 e-files to facilitate efficient archiving, reduce pendency and optimise office space. The exercise is aimed at ensuring better records management and creating cleaner, more organised working environments across DAE establishments.
The campaign also places emphasis on scientific e-waste management, with the targeted disposal, reuse and refurbishment of 4,038 obsolete equipment units. These comprise 2,951 units of information technology and telecommunication equipment, 383 units of consumer electricals, electronics and photovoltaic panels, 335 units of large and small electrical and electronic equipment, 2 electronic tools, 295 laboratory instruments and 75 units of miscellaneous equipment. The initiative prioritises the reuse, repair, refurbishment and life extension of electrical and electronic assets, along with safe and compliant disposal in accordance with applicable national e-waste management rules.
Special Campaign 6 focuses on three key objectives: scientific e-waste management, liquidation of pendency and space optimisation with revenue generation. Through the timely resolution of public grievances, parliamentary assurances and official references, the Department seeks to strengthen administrative responsiveness and accountability. Concurrently, record management, scrap clearance and the effective utilisation of available space are expected to contribute to cleaner workplaces and revenue generation.
Through Special Campaign 6, the Department of Atomic Energy reaffirms its commitment to institutionalising Swachhata, promoting efficient resource management and strengthening accountability and excellence in public service delivery.
