In a proud moment for AIIMS Nagpur, three distinguished faculty members , Dr. Prashant P. Joshi, Executive Director and CEO; Dr. Jaya Prasad Tripathy, Additional Professor; and Dr. Aravind P. Gandhi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine , have been featured in the prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists List 2026. The list is compiled using research citation data from Elsevier’s Scopus database in collaboration with researchers from Stanford University.

Formally known as the Updated Science-Wide Author Databases of Standardized Citation Indicators, the list identifies researchers with significant citation impact across scientific disciplines. It employs multiple bibliometric indicators, including total citations, the h-index, co-authorship-adjusted metrics and a composite citation score. The database presents assessments of both career-long research impact and research impact during a single recent year. 

The inclusion of these three faculty members is a significant recognition of their research contributions and reflects AIIMS Nagpur’s commitment to advancing scientific inquiry, academic excellence and evidence-based healthcare. Their achievement serves as an inspiration to the Institute’s faculty, researchers and students to pursue high-quality research that generates meaningful societal impact.
