Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia today visited the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 venue at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, to review final preparations ahead of its inauguration Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on October 8th, 2026.

During the visit, the Union Minister took a detailed tour of the exhibition area, interacted with participating startups and exhibitors, and chaired review meetings with senior officials of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), and partner agencies. He also addressed the media, outlining the scale, ambition and global significance of IMC 2026.

Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia stated that “The 10th edition of India Mobile Congress is here. Tremendous amount of excitement, energy, pulsing capabilities and proven model of Indian telecom connectivity. The connectivity on which new frontiers of technology are being explored. Come, be a part of this experience where we will have thousands of exhibitors, hundreds of companies, new products as India moves from a services nation to a product nation..”

With the theme “Scale Without Boundaries”, IMC 2026 will showcase India’s remarkable progress in telecommunications, digital connectivity and technological innovation, while providing a global platform for collaboration, investment and knowledge exchange.
India’s telecom and digital ecosystem has witnessed significant growth in recent years. The country now has 1.01 billion broadband subscribers and over 1 billion internet subscribers, while 5G services cover 99.9 per cent of districts and reach 85 per cent of the population. Further, 98.7 per cent of villages have 4G connectivity, reflecting the rapid expansion of digital connectivity across the country.

India has also emerged as the fifth country in the world to develop its own indigenous 4G stack, marking a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards technological self-reliance and strengthening its capabilities in designing, developing and deploying advanced telecom technologies.
Among the key programmes are the 3rd International 6G Symposium, CTO and CEO Roundtables, discussions on semiconductor and core components supply chains, telecom stacks for the AI era, telecom product manufacturing, satellite communications, 5G monetisation, telecom and quantum convergence, 5G Innovation Hackathon, Startup World Cup, Cybersecurity Summit and initiatives focused on inclusivity, skilling and job creation.
IMC 2026 will feature keynote addresses, roundtables, panel discussions, workshops, hackathons, demonstrations, showcases, bilateral meetings and plenary sessions, providing a platform for collaboration among governments, industry, academia, startups and technology innovators.
The event will also feature the Ministerial Programme on “Investing in the Next Billion Digital Connections”, CEO Roundtable on “The Sovereign Inflection & the Future of Telecom”, AI for Good, Cyber Security Summit, 6G Symposium, Startup World Cup India 2026, ITU Build-A-Thon on AI Agents for 5G Networks, AI Safety India–UK Panel, Robotics for Youth Challenge and other global technology programmes.

The 2026 edition will feature 2,000+ technology use cases and over 120 sessions, providing opportunities for businesses, policymakers, researchers and technology innovators to exchange ideas and explore new partnerships.
The event is also expected to bring together 300+ investors, incubators, accelerators and venture capital firms, with more than 700 investor meetings, creating opportunities for startups and technology enterprises to access global capital, mentorship and markets.
