The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD), along with its subordinate offices and PSUs, is undertaking Special Campaign 6 for Disposal of Pending Matters, in line with the theme “Institutionalizing Swachhata and Reducing Pendency.”
The campaign focuses on cleanliness, effective record management, grievance redressal, disposal of unserviceable items including e-waste, and streamlining of office processes to promote efficient and citizen-centric governance.
Under the cleanliness drive, 949 sites across the Department and its offices have been identified for cleaning. The Department is also undertaking the identification and disposal of unserviceable items, including e-waste, to improve space utilisation and generate revenue.
As part of the pendency reduction exercise, the DoF&PD has identified 13 references from Members of Parliament, 691 public grievances, 5 State Government references and 17 public grievance appeals for expeditious disposal.
A comprehensive record management exercise is also underway. 31,117 physical files and 13,058 e-files have been identified for review, of which 3,875 obsolete files have already been reviewed and marked for weeding out.
At present, there are no pending PMO references, Easing of Rules/Processes or Inter-Ministerial references under the campaign. However, these areas are being closely monitored for any new cases.
The Department is committed to achieving all targets under Special Campaign 6 within the stipulated timelines and further strengthening efficiency, cleanliness and good governance across its offices.
