State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) Gujarat, in collaboration with the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), flagged off the NPS Sanchay Van Yatra from Ahmedabad on the occasion of NPS Diwas on October 1, 2026.
The Yatra was launched simultaneously from four cities — Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Bengaluru — with the objective of taking awareness about NPS Sanchay to the last mile of the society and facilitating on-the-spot enrolment of eligible beneficiaries.

The Ahmedabad launch event was attended by Shri Raveesh Kumar, Convenor, SLBC Gujarat & General Manager, Bank of Baroda; Shri Ranjeet Kumar Das, Deputy General Manager, Bank of Baroda, Ahmedabad Zone, along with representatives of PFRDA, senior bank officials, Banking Correspondents and other stakeholders.
NPS Sanchay is a simplified variant of the National Pension System introduced by PFRDA with a focus on expanding pension coverage among the informal sectors. It is particularly relevant for people engaged in agriculture and allied activities and other informal-sector occupations.

The Van Yatra will travel across 15 districts of Gujarat from October 1 to October 15, 2026, covering three locations in each district. During the Yatra, awareness sessions will be conducted to explain the features and benefits of NPS Sanchay, while eligible individuals will also be facilitated for on-the-spot subscriber enrolment.
The initiative seeks to strengthen pension awareness and financial security among farmers, agricultural and allied-sector workers, rural entrepreneurs and other eligible members of the informal sector, while leveraging the extensive network of banks and grassroots financial inclusion functionaries.
The launch of the NPS Sanchay Van Yatra marks another significant step towards taking pension awareness and access to the last mile and strengthening inclusive social security coverage across Gujarat.
