Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth attended the closing ceremony of Centenary celebration of Military Nursing Service (MNS) at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi, on September 30, 2026. The ceremony marked the culmination of a year-long commemoration celebrating the rich legacy of the Military Nursing Service.

Addressing the gathering, RRM acknowledged the exemplary service, professionalism and selfless dedication of the MNS officers and highlighted the vital role played by them in supporting the Armed Forces Medical Services and the nation during war, natural calamity and peace times.

Director General Armed Forces Medical Services, Air Marshal Sandeep Thareja, appreciated the professional commitment, compassion and unwavering dedication of MNS officers towards their clientele, and their invaluable contribution to the Armed Forces Medical Services over the past century.

The highlights of the closing ceremony included the release of a Commemorative Coin, the memoir Steel and Grace, the centenary commemorative book titled Healing Hands & Brave Hearts: MNS@100, and the commemorative video Glimpses of a Year of Commemoration. A photo gallery depicting the history and evolution of the Military Nursing Service was also inaugurated.

Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, DGMS (Army)  Lt Gen CG Muralidharan, Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Sandeep Jain, Addl DGMNS, Maj Gen Rachel Thomas, and other senior dignitaries from Delhi Garrison graced the occasion.

The Centenary events reaffirmed the Military Nursing Service’s commitment to its enduring values of compassion, professional excellence and service to the nation, in keeping with its Centenary theme, “Honouring the Past, Healing the Present & Inspiring the Future.”
