​The AYUSH Department at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur, commemorated Ayurveda Day 2026 by organizing a special Medicinal Plantation Programme at the institute's Herbal Garden.

​The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. (Prof.) Prashant P. Joshi, Executive Director, AIIMS Nagpur. The occasion was also attended by Shri Vijay Nayak, Deputy Director (Administration), and Dr. Raunak Dubey, Deputy Medical Superintendent, alongside faculty members, staff, and participants.

​Addressing the gathering, Executive Director Dr. (Prof.) Prashant P. Joshi underscored the enduring relevance of Ayurveda and medicinal flora in modern health promotion. He highlighted the vital importance of preserving traditional Indian systems of medicine, nurturing indigenous knowledge, and adopting holistic, integrative approaches to contemporary healthcare delivery.

​The plantation drive aimed to foster greater awareness among healthcare professionals and the community regarding the conservation of medicinal plants and their therapeutic potential. The initiative also sought to reinforce the intrinsic connection between Ayurveda, environmental stewardship, and preventive wellness.

​The programme was coordinated under the leadership of Dr. Rajni Kachole, AYUSH Medical Officer (Ayurveda), with enthusiastic and active participation from the entire AYUSH team, staff, and attendees.
