Odisha’s diverse cultural heritage takes center stage in the PM Mementos e-Auction 2026, with a collection of artefacts showcasing the state’s traditions of devotion, craftsmanship, painting, textiles and literature. The catalogue features a wide range of works centered on Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, alongside representations of Odisha’s regional deities, traditional art forms, textiles, festivals and prominent cultural figures.

Among the notable pieces is a Jagannath Parivar on Chariot, depicting Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra seated on an intricately detailed chariot drawn by four sculpted horses, a representation of the cultural and spiritual significance of Rath Yatra.

The collection also includes a Pattachitra painting depicting the Puri Rath Yatra, portraying the deities in their chariot amid scenes of dance, music and celebration, highlighting the work's intricate detailing, vibrant colours and connection with Odisha's devotional artistic traditions.

The auction catalogue also showcases several traditional crafts associated with the state. Among them are works in Cuttack silver filigree or Tarakasi, an intricate craft involving delicate silver wires, as well as Sambalpuri textiles and Ikat.

Another featured work is a Maa Samaleswari devotional icon created using Sambalpuri Ikat, with the artwork entirely hand-woven through the traditional Bandha technique.

Beyond Jagannath-themed works, the collection captures Odisha's vibrant festival traditions. A framed print documents the Panchu Dola Melana, showing devotees carrying colourful miniature temple structures, while another photograph captures the festival at Chilika Lake, featuring boats carrying village deities for their annual gathering.

Taken together, the 62 mementos present a broad visual narrative of Odisha, from the enduring traditions of Jagannath worship and Rath Yatra to Pattachitra, Tarakasi, Sambalpuri Ikat, regional festivals and literary heritage. Rather than representing a single artistic tradition, the catalogue brings together multiple expressions of the state's living cultural heritage in one collection.
