The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Ayush, celebrated the 11th Ayurveda Day at its campus with a series of academic, awareness and outreach activities. Two major programmes were organised as part of the celebrations.

To mark the occasion, an “Ayurveda Public Awareness Rally” was organised in the morning with the objective of promoting Ayurveda, propagating its principles, and creating greater public awareness about the role of Ayurveda in healthy living and holistic healthcare.

Prof. (Vaidya) P.K. Prajapati, Director, AIIA, participated in the rally along with Prof. (Dr.) Manjusha Rajagopala, Dean, DU; Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Vyas, Dean, Ph.D.; Prof. (Dr.) Ramakant Yadav, Dean, PG; Dr. Yogesh Badwe, MS; and faculty members, non-faculty members, Ph.D. and postgraduate (PG) scholars, and staff of the Institute.

In the afternoon, a seminar was organised on the theme “One Health, One Future: Integrating Science through Evidence, Innovations & Holistic Care.” Prof. (Dr.) Ravichandiran V., Vice-Chancellor, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU), was the Chief Guest at the programme. He congratulated AIIA for its efforts towards promoting Ayurveda globally and appreciated the Institute’s initiatives. Dr. Vinay Choudhary, Medical Officer, Department of AYUSH, Government of India, was the Guest of Honour. He delivered a lecture on autoimmune disorders in clinical Ayurvedic practice.

Prof. (Vaidya) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, Director, AIIA, emphasised the importance of collective participation in Ayurveda awareness initiatives and strengthening public engagement with Ayurveda as part of the Institute’s outreach activities. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the various initiatives undertaken by AIIA to mark Ayurveda Day. He said, “In line with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, One Earth, One Health, Ayurveda is today moving beyond being India’s traditional healthcare heritage to become an important part of the global health discourse. As part of these celebrations, departments have organised seminars, expert lectures, webinars, public awareness programmes and patient-centric activities on diverse aspects of Ayurveda and healthcare.”

He also informed that AIIA launched “AyurVarta,” a special talk show dedicated to Ayurveda. The Institute organised AYURPRABHA-2026, a six-day workshop on Ayurveda Dermatology and Cosmetology, and conducted a special eye-screening camp for students of an NTPC school, among several other initiatives.

Two books, “Tarangini Sara Sangraha” and “Integrative Healthcare for Better Outcomes,” were also launched on the occasion.
