Maharashtra Youth Invited to Join Multi-Stage Contest Leading to National Dialogue with Prime Minister to Present Solutions on ‘Innovation Economy, Tourism & Creative Industries’

MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, has announced the launch of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027 in Maharashtra. Restructured from the National Youth Festival to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, VBYLD 2027 provides a transparent, merit-based platform for youth aged 15–29 years to present innovative ideas and solutions, with selected youth getting an opportunity to present before the Hon’ble Prime Minister at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

The Maharashtra State Edition of VBYLD 2027 will be a two-day event during which different VBYLD tracks will converge. The event will provide a common platform for youth from across Maharashtra to showcase leadership, innovation, creativity and ideas. The Hon’ble Governor and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra will be invited to preside over the opening and closing sessions.

Maharashtra’s Regional Challenge Theme: Maharashtra falls under the Konkan – Financial & Creative Economy Region along with Goa. For VBYLD 2027, the track focuses on leveraging India’s creative, cultural, tourism and innovation strengths to build a globally competitive and inclusive economy.

Guiding Question

VBYLD 2027 – Objectives:

• Promote national integration and unity by bringing together youth from diverse cultural, regional and social backgrounds.

• Provide a platform for youth from different parts of the country to interact, understand different cultures and appreciate India’s diversity.

• Inspire youth to become active participants in the socio-economic development of the country.

• Showcase youth leadership and diverse talents through folk song, folk dance, painting, declamation, poetry writing and other tracks.

• Foster youth-led solutions for a Developed India – Viksit Bharat and strengthen national integration through a single national youth dialogue.

• Expand opportunities through new tracks including the Young Entrepreneurs Start-Up Challenge and an integrated Youth Parliament.

• Build a structured pathway from district-level participation to a national dialogue with the Hon’ble Prime Minister.

• Position youth as direct contributors to region-specific developmental priorities under the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision.

• Identify and mentor youth leadership through a transparent, merit-based, multi-stage selection process.

Key Highlights & Structure:

• Eligibility: Youth aged 15–29 years as on 17 August 2026.

• Six Core Tracks: Viksit Bharat Challenge Track; Cultural Track (Folk Song/Dance, Declamation, Painting and Poetry); Design for Bharat; Hack for Social Cause; Youth Entrepreneurs Challenge; and Youth Parliament.

• Multi-Stage Selection: Viksit Bharat Quiz → Essay Challenge → District Championship → State VBYLD → National VBYLD.

• District Level: Any youth residing or studying in the district may register.

• Registration: Registration on the MY Bharat portal is mandatory for all participants.

Application at District & State Levels in Maharashtra:

• District Round: District-level presentation topics will follow the regional theme, adapted specifically to Maharashtra’s local priorities and opportunities.

• State VBYLD: District qualifiers will make individual presentations before a State Jury during the State VBYLD. The State team for the national round will be formed on the basis of performance at the State level.

• National Stage: Selected participants from Maharashtra will form part of the national contingent under the regional theme. Regional finalists will present their proposals before the Hon’ble Prime Minister.

Cultural Track – National-Level Participation:

Folk Dance and Folk Song: 7+3 participants at the national level, with support staff aged 18–40 years. Painting: 2 participants per State.

Declamation: 1 participant per State.

Poetry Writing: 1 participant per State.

(Declamation and Poetry Writing may be presented in the official language of the State / Hindi / English.)

National Round at New Delhi:

Selected State and UT contingents will participate in the National Dialogue. Region-wise teams under the Viksit Bharat Challenge Track will present their ideas before domain experts, Secretaries and Union Ministers, with regional finalists culminating in presentations before the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
