Message of a Drug-Free Life in Rajnandgaon, Youth Pledge to Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle
Picture Exhibition and Public Awareness Programme organized at Government Digvijay Autonomous College under the ‘Drug-Free Youth for Developed India – Sankalp Abhiyan’

The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Raipur, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, organized a picture exhibition and public awareness programme at Government Digvijay Autonomous College, Rajnandgaon, under the ‘Drug-Free Youth for Developed India – Sankalp Abhiyan’. The programme aimed to create awareness among youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse and inspire them to adopt a healthy, positive and constructive lifestyle.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Principal of the College, Ms. Suchitra Gupta. Addressing the students, she said that youth possess immense energy and potential, which should be channelized towards nation-building and the development of the country. Drug abuse causes pain and harm not only to individuals but also to society and the nation. She urged students to take great personalities such as Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Veer Narayan Singh as their role models.
She said that the country is facing new challenges and, in such a situation, the energy of the youth should not be wasted in drug addiction. She administered a pledge to the students to stay away from drugs. She also instructed the NSS Coordinator to establish an Anti-Drug Club in the college to provide counselling and create awareness among students.

Youth Urged to Balance Enthusiasm with Prudence
Addressing the youth, Dr. Umakant Mishra, Principal of Government College, Bilaigarh, said that it is important to maintain a balance between Josh (enthusiasm) and Hosh (prudence) in life. He urged the youth to channelize their positive energy in the right direction and contribute to the development of the nation. He also appealed to students to stay away from drugs and remain focused on their goals.

Meditation and Self-Control to Overcome Drug Addiction
Representatives from the Brahma Kumaris Centre conducted a meditation session for the students. They highlighted the importance of self-control, positive thinking and mental concentration, emphasizing that control over the mind and thoughts is essential to stay away from harmful habits such as drug addiction. They encouraged youth to channelize their energy towards constructive activities through meditation and self-discipline.

Picture Exhibition Creates Awareness on Drug Abuse
The picture exhibition effectively highlighted the physical, mental, familial and social consequences of drug abuse through photographs and informative material. Students visited the exhibition and gained awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and the importance of leading a drug-free life.

During the programme, NSS students presented a street play on drug de-addiction, conveying a strong message against substance abuse. Quiz, rangoli and drawing competitions on the theme of drug de-addiction were also organized, in which students participated enthusiastically.
The programme was attended by Programme Officer Dr. S. R. Kanoje, officials and staff of the Social Welfare Department, representatives of the Brahma Kumaris Centre, college faculty members, NSS volunteers and a large number of students.
The programme conveyed the message that youth should stay away from drugs, adopt self-discipline, a healthy lifestyle and positive thinking, and utilize their energy towards nation-building.
The programme, organized by the Central Bureau of Communication, Raipur, also emphasized the importance of increasing awareness about drug de-addiction among youth, encouraging public participation and promoting the message of building a healthy and drug-free society.
