SAIL- Bhilai Steel Plant marked a significant operational milestone with the successful inauguration and commissioning of TD2, its latest Torpedo Ladle Car, further strengthening the plant’s hot metal transportation capacity and enhancing logistical efficiency across operations.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Rakesh Kumar, ED (Works) inaugurated the TD2, Torpedo Ladle Car in the presence of and Shri Tapas Dasgupta, Ex-CGM I/c (Iron), who was present as the Special Guest, along with Shri Bijay Kumar Behera, CGM I/c (M&U), Shri Vivek Verma, CGM (Mechanical) and Shri Manoj Kumar, CGM (BF).

Congratulating the operational team on the successful commissioning of TD2, Shri Rakesh Kumar, ED (Works) appreciated the collective efforts that enabled the torpedo ladle car to be brought into operation efficiently.

Special recognition was accorded to Shri P.R. Ajayan, AGM (BF) and Shri Mohammad Sabir, AGM (RED) for their pivotal roles in the project. The commissioning of TD2 is expected to provide an important boost to hot metal transportation capabilities and contribute to smoother and more efficient movement of hot metal across the plant.
