Raksha Bandhan is a festival that celebrates the unbreakable bond of love, trust and affection between brothers and sisters. For those whose siblings are living abroad, distance need not come in the way of sharing the warmth and emotions of this special occasion. India Post is offering a convenient and affordable facility to send Rakhi and gifts to 135 countries through its International Tracked Packet Service (ITPS), with the added convenience of secure transmission and online tracking. Postmaster General, North Gujarat Region, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the International Tracked Packet Service is a special service developed keeping in view the growing requirements of international e-commerce. The service is available not only to business customers but also to the general public. Through this service, customers can send packets weighing up to 5 kg, subject to the maximum weight limit prescribed by the destination country. The biggest feature of the International Tracked Packet Service is end-to-end online tracking. With its low cost, reliable service, wide reach and tracking facility, it has emerged as one of the most dependable means of sending Rakhis to loved ones abroad.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav stated that India Post’s International Tracked Packet Service is serving as an emotional bridge for millions of Indian families whose loved ones reside abroad. Under this facility, rakhis can be sent to countries such as Thailand, Bhutan, China, Myanmar, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates at an initial rate of just ₹185 for up to 50 grams. For Malaysia, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and Vietnam, the initial rate for up to 50 grams is ₹190. ₹200 for Great Britain, ₹245 for Germany and South Africa, ₹320 for the Netherlands, ₹325 for Austria and Belgium, ₹335 for France, ₹350 for Italy, ₹360 for Canada, ₹395 for Australia and ₹400 for the United States of America. Attractive rates are also available for several other countries, including Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. GST at 18% will be charged additionally on the above rates.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav also informed that on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Department of Posts is offering customers a 10% special discount on postage charges for Inland Speed Post (Document) under the “Rakhi Mail” initiative. To avail the discount, “Rakhi Mail” must be written on the envelope. The discount is applicable only on the postage component, and a customer can book a maximum of 5 Rakhi Mail articles in a single transaction. The facility is available only for retail counter bookings.
