As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, a grand Tricolour rally was organised in Vijayawada, showcasing patriotism and national unity. Carrying a giant National Flag, hundreds of NCC cadets from tri services, officers and personnel participated enthusiastically in the rally, organised by the 17th Andhra Battalion NCC, with the support of the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC). 

The rally commenced from the Vijayawada City Post Office and proceeded through the major streets of the city before culminating at Gandhi Hill. The display of a 200 feet  length National Flag was a major attraction in the rally. Amid slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”, the NCC cadets carried the giant National Flag, drawing the keen attention of the public.

Speaking on the occasion, CBC Assistant Director R. Ramesh Chandra said that the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign aims to further strengthen the spirit of patriotism among citizens and foster greater respect for the National Flag. Recalling the sacrifices made by numerous great personalities during the freedom struggle, he called upon everyone to hoist the Tricolour at their homes and celebrate the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour. He also urged citizens to dedicate themselves to the spirit of ‘Vande Mataram’, which is commemorating its 150th anniversary.

NCC cadets from various educational institutions under the jurisdiction of the 17th Army Battalion, along with NCC officers, Army personnel and others, participated in the programme.
