MY Bharat (erstwhile Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan - NYKS), an autonomous body under the Department of Youth Affairs, has been implementing various youth development and volunteer programmes across the country, including in Maharashtra.
During the financial year 2025-26, a total of 2,583 programmes were conducted in Maharashtra, with participation of 6,86,421 young people. These programmes provided youth with opportunities for volunteering, experiential learning, civic engagement, leadership development and participation in nation-building activities.
Over the last three years, 22,265 Youth Clubs have been covered in the state. These Youth Clubs serve as platforms for young people to participate in community-oriented activities and contribute to local development.
During 2025-26, ₹22.27 crore was allocated for MY Bharat activities in Maharashtra, of which ₹20.64 crore was utilised.
The initiatives undertaken by MY Bharat have helped strengthen youth leadership and increase community participation. By providing structured opportunities for volunteering and experiential learning, the programmes encourage young people to take an active role in addressing community needs and participating in developmental activities.
This was answered by the Union Minister of & Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
