CCRAS-CARI Inaugurates Extension OPD Facility in New Delhi


New Facility to Expand Access to Quality, Evidence-Based Ayurvedic Healthcare Services in the National Capital

The Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), New Delhi, under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush today inaugurated an Extension Outpatient Department (OPD) in New Delhi. The new facility is aimed at further strengthening the delivery of accessible, quality and evidence-based Ayurvedic healthcare services to the people of Rohini and adjoining areas.

Prof. (Vaidya) Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General, CCRAS, inaugurated the facility in the presence of senior officers and dignitaries.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Vaidya) Rabinarayan Acharya reiterated CCRAS’s commitment to expanding the reach of evidence-based Ayurveda and making quality Ayurvedic healthcare services more accessible to the public. He emphasised the importance of strengthening clinical services and extending the benefits of Ayurveda to communities through institutional and outreach initiatives.

Dr. Hemanta Panigrahi, Institute In-charge, CARI, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. N. Srikanth, Deputy Director General, CCRAS, highlighted the importance of expanding evidence-based Ayurvedic clinical services at the community level. Shri Deepak Kochhar, Deputy Director (Administration), CCRAS, and Shri M. Shivkumar Reddy, Superintendent Engineer, CPWD, spoke on the administrative and infrastructure aspects of the facility.

The new Extension OPD will provide accessible Ayurvedic outpatient services to residents of Rohini and adjoining areas, strengthening CARI, New Delhi’s clinical outreach and bringing evidence-based Ayurveda closer to the community.

The initiative is in line with the Ministry of Ayush’s continued efforts to strengthen the Ayush healthcare ecosystem, expand institutional healthcare infrastructure and make traditional systems of medicine more accessible to citizens. Such outreach facilities also support the broader objective of integrating evidence-based practices of Ayurveda into accessible and community-oriented healthcare delivery.

The inauguration marks another step towards strengthening the network of Ayurvedic clinical services in the National Capital and advancing the vision of accessible, quality and evidence-based Ayush healthcare for all.
