West Bengal Postal Circle announces Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana 2026–27 Scholarship for School Students

40 Annual Scholarships of ₹6,000/- each for Regular Students of Classes VI to IX across West Bengal, Sikkim, and A&N Islands

Aims to promote Philately (Stamp collecting) as Educational and Creative Hobby

The Department of Posts, West Bengal Circle, has invited applications from eligible school students across West Bengal, Sikkim, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands for the Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana (2026–27).

A total of 40 scholarships (10 students per class for Classes VI, VII, VIII, and IX) worth ₹6,000/- per annum each will be awarded to students with a good academic record who pursue Philately as a hobby. Scholarship amounts will be credited directly into awardees' POSB or IPPB accounts on a quarterly basis.

Regular students of Classes VI–IX who scored at least 60% marks in their last final examination (55% for SC/ST candidates) and hold membership in a School Philately Club or possess a live Philately Deposit Account (PDA) may apply.

·         Selection Process:

1.      Level 1 (Screening Test): A Written Philately Quiz to be conducted across Regional Offices on September 30, 2026 (11:00 AM).

2.      Level 2 (Final Evaluation): Submission of an original 4–5 page Philately Project by shortlisted candidates.

The completed application form (Annexure A) attested by the School Principal should be submitted to the concerned Regional Postmaster General Office (Kolkata Region, South Bengal Region, North Bengal Region, Sikkim State, or A&N Islands Division) on or before September 21, 2026 by Speed Post, Registered Post, or by hand.
