As informed by the Government of Rajasthan, revenue generated from tourism at specific locations in Rajasthan is not maintained. Generally, increased tourist visits lead to increase in hotel bookings and tourism revenue.
Identification, development and promotion of tourism destinations and products is a continuous process primarily undertaken by the concerned State Government / Union Territory Administration. The Government of Rajasthan has informed that it is taking comprehensive steps to boost tourism in Rajasthan through infrastructure development and targeted marketing. The Ministry of Tourism is complementing these efforts by extending financial assistance under its central sector schemes like Swadesh Darshan, Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment, Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive, etc.
This information was given by Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
