PIB Guwahati Organises Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee Meeting in collaboration with NEHHDC, Guwahati

First Edition of "Purbashree Pulse" – The In-house Magazine of NEHHDC launched

To strengthen inter-departmental coordination among the publicity wings of various Central Government departments, the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Guwahati, organised an Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) meeting today in collaboration with North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC), Garchuk, Guwahati. The meeting was chaired by Shri Kripa Shankar Yadav, Additional Director General, North East Zone, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and co-chaired by Shri Mara Kocho, Managing Director, NEHHDC.

The IMPCC platform brought together representatives from various Central Government departments and organisations to share their key activities, initiatives and achievements in Assam and across the North East region.

In his welcome address Shri Kripa Shankar Yadav, Additional Director General, Guwahati Region, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting highlighted the multifaceted roles and activities undertaken by the media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, including the Press Information Bureau, Central Bureau of Communication, Doordarshan and All India Radio. He emphasised the importance of coordinated efforts among all departments for effective public communication and assured complete support from the Ministry's media units in disseminating information on government programmes and initiatives to the public.

Addressing the meeting, Shri Mara Kocho, Managing Director, NEHHDC, highlighted the work of NEHHDC stating that the Corporation is working at the grassroots level to support artisans and weavers across the North East. He stated that NEHHDC acts as a facilitator and aggregator of handicrafts and handloom products, helping artisans access both national and international markets. Stressing the need for greater opportunities to showcase products on different platforms, he said increased visibility would help expand market access. He further informed that NEHHDC also empowers artisans by connecting them with entrepreneurs and promoting government procurement of their products. Buying from NEHHDC directly benefits the artisans, he added. During the meeting the First Edition of "Purbashree Pulse" – The In-house Magazine of NEHHDC was also launched by the senior officails of PIB and NEHHDC.

More than 35 representatives from Central Government departments and organisations, including the Department of Tourism, Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Department of Income Tax, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), India Meteorological Department (IMD), Department of Telecommunications, Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), NEHHDC, and several other organisations, participated in the meeting and shared updates on their ongoing activities, public outreach initiatives and future plans in the region. All departments were urged to actively participate in the 6th Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and Har Ghar Tiranga campaigns, and called upon all participating organisations to work in close coordination to ensure wider public participation and awareness.

The IMPCC meeting concluded with an interactive session during which participants exchanged ideas and shared suggestions to strengthen media coordination and improve the effectiveness of public communication.
