‘Fit Bharat, Hit Bharat’: Youth Professionals Gather in Dehradun for Viksit Bharat Round Table

- Students from various colleges and universities, volunteers from NCC, NSS, and 'MY Bharat', young professionals, and teachers participated in the event

- The event was organized under the joint auspices of 'MY Bharat, Dehradun' and the Indian Mountaineering Foundation as part of the 'Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue–2026' initiative

- Panel discussions and Q&A sessions were held during the program on key topics such as health, career, leadership, adventure activities, and nation-building

In a dynamic initiative aimed at building a healthier, stronger and more responsible India, a Young Professionals Roundtable on the theme “Fit Bharat, Hit Bharat” was convened at the Auditorium, DBS Global University, Selaqui, Dehradun. The event was organised by  MY Bharat, Dehradun with calloboration Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF)under the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The programme, held on 9th July 2026, brought together over 200 participants and featured a ceremonial inauguration, a VBYLD presentation, an interactive panel discussion, a Nasha Mukti Bharat pledge, and certificate distribution.

Group Captain Ramesh Chandra Tripathi, VM (Gallantry), Adventurer, IAF Veteran and Chairman of the Youth Development Committee, Indian Mountaineering Foundation, spoke about the role of adventure sports and discipline in building physical fitness and mental resilience among youth. Drawing on his mountaineering career, he shared insights on perseverance, risk management and pushing personal limits, and highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainable development in the Himalayan region. He also spoke about initiatives to encourage reverse migration and reconnect youth with their roots through adventure and community-driven development.

Advocate Ritu Gujral, Advocate, Mediator and Conciliator at the High Court of Uttarakhand and District Court, Dehradun, spoke about her experience conducting jail visits as an Empaneled Advocate and Jail Visitor. She highlighted a shift in the justice system’s approach towards being increasingly victim-centric rather than focused solely on the offender, and emphasised the importance of legal literacy and awareness among youth regarding their rights and responsibilities.

Dr Anjum Aggarwal ,Vice President -DBS Global University :She discussed the importance of resilience after failure, encouraging youth to trust their support systems and recognise that setbacks are often a necessary part of growth.

She recommended cultivating a hobby or sport as a way to release stress and build the emotional strength needed to deal with failure constructively.
She spoke about the need to build a youth-driven ecosystem for drug awareness, noting that young people themselves must be active participants and messengers in this effort.

Dr. A. S. Suresh, Professor and Director, DBS Global University, spoke about efforts to support behavioural transformation among incarcerated individuals through jail visits and structured conversations. He discussed the importance of resilience after failure, encouraging youth to trust their support systems and cultivate a hobby or sport to release stress. He called for a youth-driven ecosystem for drug awareness, reflected on how societal pressure contributes to psychological distress among students, and addressed the paradox of India having among the highest number of social media users while also being cited as one of the loneliest countries, urging youth to build genuine connection through quality time, self-reflection and communities that resonate with their values.

Mr. Yatharth Gairola, Entrepreneur, Adventurer and Content Creator, and founder of Oh BhaiSahab Experiences, spoke about the Government of India’s Startup India vision and its relevance for young entrepreneurs. He shared his personal entrepreneurial journey, including the failure of his first venture, drawing out lessons on resilience, planning and self-awareness that enabled his subsequent venture to succeed. He encouraged young professionals to treat failure as a learning opportunity and to build purpose-driven ventures at the intersection of entrepreneurship, adventure and community.

The panel discussion explored physical fitness, mental resilience, legal awareness and entrepreneurship, with panelists collectively emphasising that a truly fit nation requires citizens who are physically active, mentally strong, socially responsible and equipped to turn setbacks into growth. The initiative brought together over 200 participants and 250+ registered MY Bharat volunteers, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas between youth and experts from key sectors.
