PM Modi led India from darkness to energy surplus: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi

In the 12 years of PM Modi governance, India has become energy surplus country and moved from darkness to the light, said the Union Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and New & Renewable Energy Minister Shri Pralhad Joshi, in Tirupati today. Celebrating the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government’s “12 years of Vishwas Ke, Vikas Ke, Jan Kalyan Ke”, he addressed the Media.

Minister Pralhad Joshi said, before 2014 entire north India lived in darkness during the peak demand of 123 GWs. However, PM Modi led government handled peak demand of 280 GWs on 23rd May this year, successfully. He informed that country has reached 538 GWs of power generation capacity with 33 percent of contribution from renewable resources. He said, India has surpassed USA with 290 GW of installed capacity in Renewable Energy sector and standing 3rd and 4th in global rankings in solar and wind energy sectors respectively.
Union Minister said,PM Modi led a country with fragile economy to Rs. 345 lakh crore growing economy in the last 12 years. Infrastructure development has attracted investments and generated employment to youth, he said. In the last 11 years a 60,000 KM of Road network has been added including high speed corridors,he informed. With improved infrastructure, and ease in doing business, an investments of Rs.1.69 lakh Crore under Semicon India programme was attracted, electronics manufacturing increased 28 times, while mobile exports increased 163 times to a record export total of Rs.79 lakh crore in 12 years.
Shri Pralhad Joshi said, PM Modi has also ensured development fruits are reached to the last man in the society. Revealing the study results of International agencies like IMF and World Bank, he said, in 11 years of governance with inclusivity, the Modi Government has brought the multi-dimensional poverty rate down to 11.28% from 29.17% in 2013-14. With the result, over 25 Crore population is now out of multi-dimensional poverty he said.
Shri Pralhad Joshi said, the Centre firmly believes each state’s development in the journey towards a Vikasit Bharat by 2047. Listing the centre’s cooperation, he said a 325% increase in the grant in aid helping Andhra Pradesh for the construction of Amaravati Capital, Polavaram, Vizag Steel Plant and South Coast Railway Zone in Visakhapatnam. Union Minister thanked State Chief Minister Shri N Chandrababu Naidu for efficient implementation of various welfare schemes and developmental activities.

Earlier, Shri Pralhad Joshi mourned the death of employees in Vizag Steel Plant mishap and assured that government will stand by the bereaved families and injured. AP Revenue Minister Shri Anagani Satya Prasad, Energy Minister Shri Shri Gottipati Ravi Kumar, AP State BJP President Shri PVN Madav and senior leaders are present in the press briefing. Shri Pralhad Joshi has released various booklets and literature, published by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting depicting 12 years of country’s growth, on the occasion.
