Jammu & Kashmir Delegation’s Yuva Sangam Phase VI Visit to Keralam Hosted by IIM Kozhikode

The Jammu & Kashmir delegation, led by IIM Jammu, arrived in Keralam as part of Yuva Sangam Phase VI under the Ministry of Education’s Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative. The delegation comprising participants from Jammu and Kashmir was accorded a warm welcome and hosted by IIM Kozhikode. The programme is aimed at promoting cultural exchange, experiential learning, and national integration among youth from different regions of India.

Hon’ble Governor of Keralam Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar interacted with the delegates at Gurukul, IIM Kozhikode. The Governor engaged with the participants on themes of leadership, nation-building, and the role of youth in shaping a Viksit Bharat, encouraging them to become active contributors to India’s growth story and strengthening the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

During the exposure visits, the delegation explored key institutions and cultural landmarks across Keralam. At Centre for Water Resources Development and Management (CWRDM), the delegates visited the Water Heritage Museum and Climate Change Learning Lab, gaining insights into water conservation and climate awareness. The delegates experienced Banasura Sagar Dam, Karlad Lake, Tea Museum, Honey Museum, Chain Tree conservation site, and Adyanpara Waterfalls, along with a visit to the Adyanpara Hydroelectric Power Plant, learning about ecology, biodiversity, and sustainable development practices.

The delegates also visited Sargaalaya Arts & Crafts Village at Iringal, where delegates interacted with artisans and experienced Keralam’s traditional craftsmanship. The visit included a boat ride and exposure to local cultural heritage, followed by a sunset experience at Kappad Beach. They also trekked through Ponpara Hills and attended sessions on biodiversity and environmental conservation, along with insights into riverine agriculture and regional food traditions.

 

The delegation also visited Keralam Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (Milma), Nilambur Teak Museum, and Bio-Resources Nature Park, where participants learned about dairy processing, forestry heritage, and biodiversity conservation and also visited Regional Science Centre and Planetarium. This journey is offering a holistic exposure to Keralam’s cultural, ecological, and developmental landscape, reinforcing the spirit of national unity and experiential learning under Yuva Sangam Phase VI.
