An IMPCC meeting was organized at PIB Ahmedabad laid special emphasis on coordinated media efforts to promote various public welfare schemes and policies of the government, as well as to address misleading information related to them and to strengthen publicity strategies for Flagship government schemes

The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Ahmedabad, organized a meeting of the Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) to strengthen the extensive publicity and outreach of the Central Government's various public welfare programs and policies and to successfully combat fake news or false information.

Public Sector Undertakings and representatives from other Central and State Government ministries attended the meeting. The meeting, chaired by Director General PIB & Chairman IMPCC Mr. Prashant Pathrabe, was attended by officials from various Central and State Government departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and the State Information Department. Detailed discussions were held on making communication and public awareness strategies for the Central Government’s flagship schemes more effective.Officials from various departments also shared the challenges faced in publicity and outreach activities, and discussions were held regarding possible solutions to address these issues.

Particular emphasis was placed on the integrated use of various media platforms, including print, electronic, and social media, for the promotion and dissemination of government welfare schemes and policies and activities of the departments. The need for a coordinated media approach to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information in order to counter misleading narratives was also highlighted.
