The Regional Passport Office (RPO), Chennai continues to actively engage in various social outreach initiatives aimed at enhancing citizen services. As part of these efforts,  the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Chennai, in association with TRIFED India, inaugurated a “TRIBES India” kiosk within the premises of the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) Saligramam.

The retail brand Tribes India, selling handcrafted goods, handlooms, and natural food items and natural forest product in this platform.                                                                

The event was graced by Shri. Raja Murugan, IPS, Managing Director of Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India and Shri. S. Vijayakumar, Regional Passport Officer, Chennai.

TRIFED (Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India) is a national-level apex organization functioning under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The initiative aims to promote the socio-economic development of tribal communities by enhancing their visibility and facilitating greater access to services.

This initiative is part of the flagship citizen-centric programs of the Regional Passport office, Ministry of External Affairs, Chennai aimed at extending services to tribal communities, ensuring greater accessibility and inclusivity.
