The Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), a premier unit of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) located in Avadi, Chennai, celebrated its 52nd Lab Raising Day today (15.05.2026), at its institutional premises.

The commemorative function was graced by the august presence of Shri J. Rajesh Kumar, Outstanding Scientist & Director, CVRDE, along with Dr. V. Balamurugan, Outstanding Scientist & Program Director (Armoured Fighting Vehicles). In his keynote address, the Director of CVRDE emphasized the vital importance of the laboratory’s recent contributions to defense research. He further urged the scientific community and staff to continue their dedicated efforts toward advancing the indigenous technology base for Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs).

 

The event commenced with a welcome address delivered by Shri Bosco Nazrath, Vice Chairman of the 22nd Works Committee. The successful celebration concluded with a formal vote of thanks expressed by Shri AP Jothikumar, Sports Secretary of the 22nd Works Committee.

Marking the occasion, CVRDE employees were formally honored with meritorious and commendation certificates in recognition of their significant contributions and exemplary work in the laboratory during the year 2025.
