RBI Organised Financial Literacy Camp for Migrant Workers on International Labour Day

On the occasion of International Labour Day, the Reserve Bank of India, Financial Inclusion Development Department, Panaji conducted a Financial Literacy Awareness Camp for migrant workers to promote financial inclusion and safe banking practices among migrant workers at Patto on April 30, 2026. The programme was graced by Shri Prabhakar Jha, Regional Director, RBI.

Around 80 participants were educated on saving habits, various Govt schemes like PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, use of banking services e-KYC, digital transactions, and protection against financial fraud. RBI’s message RBI Kehta Hai Jaankar Baniye, Satark Rahiye was highlighted during the programme.
The camp also facilitated on-the-spot bank account opening and enrolment in various Government schemes, helping workers access formal financial services and social security benefits through SBI and Canara Bank.
The initiative aims to empower migrant workers to make informed financial decisions and secure their future.
