The Reserve Bank of India, Nagpur organized a district-specific Vidarbha Specific Training for Empowering MSMEs (VSTEM) Workshop along with a Townhall meeting at Wardha on April 17, 2026, to promote financial inclusion and MSME development.

Over 200 MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs from the district participated in the programme. This was the fourth VSTEM workshop in the series, following similar initiatives in Gadchiroli, Nagpur, and Yavatmal, aimed at enabling entrepreneurs to access formal credit and institutional support.

Shri Sachin Y. Shende, Regional Director, RBI, Nagpur, presided over the workshop. Ms. Anjana Shyamnath, Deputy General Manager, RBI, along with senior officials from major banks, NABARD, District Industries Centre, Government of Maharashtra, and the Lead District Manager (Wardha), attended the event. Banks also set up stalls to guide participants on MSME credit facilities.

Addressing the participants, Shri Shende emphasized capacity building and integration of entrepreneurs into the formal financial system. He highlighted the potential of Wardha’s handloom sector, rooted in Gandhian traditions, in areas such as value-added textiles, eco-friendly apparel, and digital marketing. Ms. Shyamnath outlined the initiative’s focus on empowering local entrepreneurs and strengthening the district economy.

The workshop covered Udyam Registration, GST procedures, record-keeping, and key government schemes including PMEGP, CMEGP, MUDRA, CGTMSE, and PM Vishwakarma. Sessions on the GeM platform were also held to improve market access. The programme concluded with interactive discussions.
