The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project will be serviced by three Rolling Stock depots located at Sabarmati and Surat in Gujarat and Thane in Maharashtra.

Surat Rolling Stock depot with an area of about 27 Ha will be equipped with facilities for the commissioning and maintenance of the trains. It will have state-of-the-art equipment for light maintenance of trainsets with inspection bays, washing plant, stabling lines, etc.

Daily and regular inspection of rolling stock will be carried out in the depot premises. Two (02) inspection-cum-stabling lines are being provided at present and with a provision of four (04) stabling lines in future. In addition to inspection, unschedule repair and wheel re-profiling facilities are also being provided in the depot.

These facilities will ensure a safe, reliable and efficient operation of India’s first Bullet Train project.
