REGIONAL PASSPORT OFFICE, PUNE AND PUNE POLICE CONDUCT SPECIAL OPEN HOUSE; MAJOR RELIEF TO PASSPORT APPLICANTS

The Regional Passport Office (RPO), Pune, in coordination with Pune Police, conducted a Special Joint Open House at the Regional Passport Office, Baner, Pune on Wednesday (4th March, 2026).

The initiative was taken as guided by the spirit of “Nagariko Devo Bhavah”, underscoring the importance of close coordination between the Police Department and the Passport Office for timely passport issuance. It was aimed at resolving grievances related to passport applications, particularly issues concerning Police Verification Reports (PVRs).

Senior officers from RPO Pune and officials from Pune Police interacted directly with applicants, heard their concerns, and facilitated on-the-spot resolution of several pending cases.

During the session, applicants were also provided detailed guidance on documentation requirements for passport applications, procedures to be followed in cases involving ongoing court proceedings, and change of address issues, etc.

The Joint Open House provided a unique platform for citizens to engage directly with both the Passport Office and Police authorities, significantly reducing delays and improving transparency in the police verification process.

The Regional Passport Office, Pune, reiterated its commitment to citizen-centric service delivery and to strengthening coordination with the Police Department to ensure faster, more efficient processing of passport applications.
