National Karmayogi Mission Effectively Implemented at Bhilai Steel Plant; 15 Master Trainers Honoured for Outstanding Contribution

The National Karmayogi Mission capacity-building programme has been successfully implemented at Bhilai Steel Plant of Steel Authority of India Limited. Fifteen Master Trainers were honoured for their outstanding contribution to the initiative.


The one-day “National Karmayogi” training programme was organised by the Human Resources–Learning and Development Department of Bhilai Steel Plant through its Human Resource Development Centre and Management Development Centre. The programme was conducted in phases from October 5, 2025 to February 10, 2026, with enthusiastic participation from employees across various departments of the plant.


The primary objective of the programme was to strengthen capacity building, enhance professional competencies, and promote a culture of continuous learning, service excellence and accountability among public sector employees.


During the stipulated period, 57 Master Trainers, prepared under the guidance of two Lead Trainers of the plant, trained 3,735 employees through the National Karmayogi one-day programme, achieving a significant milestone. As a result of this performance, Bhilai Steel Plant secured the top position among all units of Steel Authority of India Limited. Among the 57 Master Trainers, 15 distinguished themselves through exemplary performance, leadership ability, and effective training and presentation skills.


The 15 outstanding Master Trainers included Shri Arun Kumar Saroj, Senior Manager (Human Resources), Kuteshwar Mines; Ms. Navneeta Chauhan, Junior Manager (Human Resources – Mechanical and Utilities); Ms. Sheeba Thomas, Assistant Manager (Medical); Ms. Sheikh Shireen, Maintenance Training Associate (Rail Structure Maintenance); Ms. Avanthi Vuchula, Manager (Human Resources – Mills); Shri Sikandar Indoriya, Deputy Manager (Human Resources – Steel); Shri Nishant Prakash Toppo, Assistant General Manager (Steel Melting Shop–2); Shri Gaurav Singhal, General Manager (Steel Melting Shop–2); Shri Birendra Kumar, General Manager (Rajhara Mines); Shri Anand Kumar, Assistant Manager (Dalli Mines); Shri Dinesh Chandra Mahajan, Assistant Manager (Plant Garage); Ms. Tanmayi Mallesh, Assistant Manager (Human Resources – Mills); Shri Narendra Rao, Deputy Manager (Heavy Machinery and Equipment); Shri B. Gopal Rao, Junior Manager (Human Resources – Mechanical and Utilities); and Shri Anil Bhave, Assistant General Manager (Central Maintenance Management).


At a felicitation ceremony held at the Director-in-Charge Auditorium, Executive Director (Human Resources) Shri Pawan Kumar honoured the 15 Master Trainers for their remarkable contribution, subject expertise, active involvement and commitment. He stated that aligning individual development with national development goals is the need of the hour. He further observed that initiatives such as the National Karmayogi Mission play a vital role in enhancing efficiency, accountability and innovation in the public service system.


The programme also incorporated modules addressing positive behavioural and attitudinal changes in both professional and personal life, enabling employees to serve the organisation and society with a motivated and constructive mindset. Dignitaries present at the ceremony appreciated the interactive sessions and practical insights delivered by the Master Trainers.
