The Financial Inclusion and Development Department (FIDD) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Ahmedabad Regional Office, successfully conducted a high-level convergence workshop today at The Fern Sardar Sarovar Resort, Ekta Nagar. The event brought together 35 Lead District Managers (LDMs), 18 District Development Managers (DDMs), and Lead District Officers (LDOs) from across Gujarat and the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.

​Empowering the Backbone of Rural Credit

​The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Amresh Ranjan, Regional Director, RBI, who emphasized the pivotal role these officers play in driving the nation’s financial inclusion agenda. During his address, Shri Ranjan specifically underscored the critical importance of Agriculture Finance, stressing that the upliftment of small and marginal farmers remains central to sustainable economic growth.

​While lauding Gujarat’s achievements in inclusive growth, the Regional Director also issued a call to action regarding the rise in cyber frauds, such as "digital arrests." He urged all stakeholders to develop robust strategies to protect citizens and maintain trust in digital banking systems.

​Strategic Collaboration and Skill Enhancement

​The technical sessions focused on synchronizing the efforts of various banking and development agencies. Key themes included:

• ​Lead Bank Scheme (LBS): Updates on the latest regulatory perspectives from the RBI and SLBC.
• ​Potential Linked Plans (PLP): Strategic preparation of district-level credit plans to ensure fund flow to priority sectors.
• ​Leadership Development: Strengthening the coordination skills of field-level officers to bridge the gap between policy and implementation.
