NATIONAL TECHNICAL TEXTILES MISSION

National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) was launched in the year 2020 with a fund outlay of Rs.1,480 crore. The Mission aims to promote research and innovation in specialty fibres and technical textiles, indigenous machinery development, user awareness, export enhancement, and creation of a skilled workforce. A total of 168 research projects in various segments of Technical Textiles including 03 indigenous machinery development projects, 24 Start-ups and 45 Educational Institutions for implementing courses in the field of Technical Textiles have been approved under the Mission. Alongside innovation, Mission has facilitated development of 24 skilling courses in various segments of technical textiles and more than 1,000 persons have been provided skill training. In addition, 21 agencies have been empanelled for conducting internship programmes for undergraduate students for providing practical experience in the relevant fields for technical textiles.
NTTM is a Pan India Mission for promotion of technical textiles which is being implemented across the country, including the State of Karnataka.
