The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour at the Central Office of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Mumbai. The Chief Executive Officer of KVIC, Smt. Roop Rashi, unfurled the National Flag, followed by the collective singing of the National Anthem.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Chief Executive Officer highlighted the importance of the Constitution and the core values of democracy, unity and self-reliance, which guides the nation’s progress. She emphasized the significant role played by Khadi and Village Industries in strengthening the rural economy, generating sustainable employment and empowering artisans across the Country.

Reiterating KVIC’s commitment to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat, Smt. Roop Rashi stated that Khadi is not merely a fabric, but a symbol of national pride, sustainability and comprehensive development. Referring to the views of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, she said that Khadi represents self-reliance and serves as a powerful means of providing employment to people at the last mile, thereby making a significant contribution towards achieving the goals of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat.

On this occasion, Smt. Roop Rashi noted that nearly 90 percent of the artisans associated with KVIC are women. She underlined that Khadi is one of India’s oldest and most powerful talents, conveying to the world India’s firm belief in inclusive development. Artisans, she said, are not merely workers, but custodians of heritage who play a vital role in preserving tradition and are taking the nation forward through their craftsmanship, creativity and spirit of self-reliance.
The Chief Executive Officer appreciated the dedication and commitment of KVIC officers and employees in promoting Khadi and Village Industries and called upon them to work with complete sincerity and enthusiasm in nation building.
