Jayant Chaudhary, MoS (I/C), MSDE inaugurates state-of-the-art Girls’ Hostel at NSTI (Women), Panipat to boost womens’ skilling and residential access

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Government of India, Shri Jayant Chaudhary today inaugurated a new, fully equipped Girls’ Hostel at the National Skill Training Institute (Women), Panipat, reaffirming the Government of India’s commitment to empowering young women through enhanced access to high-quality technical training and safe, inclusive residential infrastructure.
The new Girls’ Hostel, designed has been developed over an area of 2,758 square metres and is a G+2 storey facility, with a focus on safety, accessibility and sustainability, significantly expands the residential capacity of NSTI (Women) Panipat. The hostel comprises a total of 59 rooms, including a recreation room. It offers modern 50 twin-sharing accommodation, guest facilities and common spaces that enable trainees to learn and live in an environment that supports academic excellence and personal growth. The infrastructure integrates energy-efficient systems and modern amenities to provide young women with the kind of secure and aspirational campus life that encourages them to excel in technical fields.
Speaking at the event, Shri Jayant Chaudhary emphasised that India’s growth journey is stronger when young women are able to pursue their ambitions without constraints. He noted that Haryana has always been a land of immense energy, talent and sporting excellence, with youth who continue to make the nation proud. He added that the new hostel will ensure that more young women can confidently step forward into high-skill career pathways and contribute meaningfully to Viksit Bharat.
Referring to the recently launched SOAR (Skilling for AI Readiness) - #SkillTheNation Challenge announced by the President of India on January 1, Shri Chaudhary urged students and youth to actively join the movement, take the AI course, and nominate their friends and family members to participate. He underlined that learning AI today opens doors to new opportunities across sectors, empowering every learner—irrespective of background—to be future-ready and shape India’s digital and economic transformation.
This facility will encourage more girl trainees from across the state to take up technical and future-ready skills, knowing they have a safe and supportive residence while they learn. Minister underlined the State Government’s commitment to strengthening women’s participation in education and skilling, observing that such investments not only benefit families but also uplift local economies.
With the addition of this new hostel, NSTI (Women), Panipat is now better positioned to expand enrolment in high-demand trades and deepen industry partnerships that lead to employment. The launch represents a major step toward ensuring that every young woman who seeks opportunities in emerging sectors finds the right environment to succeed, fulfilling the national vision of Women-Led Development.
The ceremony was also graced by Shri Sunil Kumar Gupta, ISDS, Deputy Director General, Directorate General of Training (DGT), MSDE, and Shri Sushil Kumar Agarwal, Regional Director, RDSDE Haryana, along with senior officials, faculty members, trainees and local representatives, marking a truly collaborative effort toward advancing women’s technical education in the state.
Over the years, NSTI (Women), Panipat has emerged as a key hub for women’ skilling in Haryana, equipping trainees with industry-aligned competencies in high-demand fields such as Fashion Design Technology, Cosmetology, Electronics, Computer Applications and Stenography. The institute continues to reinforce its industry collaborations to ensure practical learning, internships, and effective placement outcomes enabling learners to move into potential and sustainable career opportunities and entrepreneurial ventures. It has also actively supported national flagship initiatives through specialised training programmes under signature schemes such as PM Vishwakarma and PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, ensuring women are prepared for a wider range of livelihood pathways in emerging sectors. Alumni from NSTI (Women) Panipat have consistently performed well in assessments and competitions, reinforcing the institute’s role in developing confident, capable and future-ready women professionals who are contributing to India’s growing skill economy.
