The National Statistical Office (NSO), Government of India is conducting the Annual Survey on Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) 2026 during January 2026 to December 2026. The survey covers unincorporated non-agricultural establishments engaged in manufacturing, trade and other service sectors across the country, except in the difficult-to-access villages of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The data collected will support evidence-based policymaking and the compilation of national accounts.

The unincorporated sector plays a vital role in employment generation and economic growth. The survey design has been strengthened to ensure wider coverage, improved accuracy and reliability of estimates.

In addition, the NSO (Field Operations Division) is conducting the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) to generate key labour market indicators such as Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR), Worker Population Ratio (WPR) and Unemployment Rate (UR), which are extensively used for monitoring labour market trends and formulating employment-related policies.

To discuss various aspects of these surveys, a one-day conference for NSO (FOD) officials engaged in survey work in Gujarat was held on 02 January 2026 at the Regional Office, Ahmedabad. The conference was inaugurated by Shri Junaid Farooqui, Deputy Director General & Regional Head, Gujarat (Western Region), FOD, NSO. Survey modifications and operational procedures was deliberated by Shri Rupin Soni, Assistant Director, and Shri Ajay Kumar Yadav and Smt. Kunali Rabhadia, Senior Statistical Officers.

All information collected during the surveys will be kept strictly confidential. The general public is requested to extend full cooperation by providing accurate information to NSO field officials.
