Two-Day Residential Refresher Course on Road Safety Concludes for Gujarat RTO Officers

A two-day residential refresher course on Road Safety and the Motor Vehicles Act for Regional Transport Office (RTO) officers successfully concluded on December 23, 2025, at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU). The program, which commenced on December 22, 2025, was a collaborative effort between Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), the Office of the Commissioner of Transport, Government of Gujarat, and the Commissioner of GUJROSA.

The primary objective of this intensive training was to enhance the knowledge and practical understanding of RTO officers regarding critical aspects of road safety regulations, recent amendments to the Motor Vehicles Act, effective enforcement mechanisms, and best practices aimed at reducing road accidents and improving overall traffic management across the state. A total of 29 RTO officers from various districts of Gujarat participated in this comprehensive residential course. The curriculum featured a dynamic blend of expert lectures, interactive sessions, in-depth case studies, and valuable experience-sharing discussions, all designed to address contemporary challenges in road safety and transport administration.

During the inaugural session, distinguished dignitaries underscored the indispensable role of RTO officers in upholding road safety standards. They emphasized the critical importance of continuous capacity building initiatives to ensure that enforcement strategies remain aligned with the rapidly evolving legal frameworks and technological advancements in the transportation sector.

The Valedictory Session of the Two-Day Residential Refresher Course on Road Safety and the Motor Vehicles Act for RTO Officers was held successfully.

On this occasion, the Commissioner, GUJROSA, graced the programme as the Chief Guest and delivered an insightful Valedictory Address to the participating RTO Officers.

Commissioner Sir emphasized the importance of adopting innovative ideas and modern approaches in the field of road safety. He highlighted the need for proactive planning, use of technology, data-driven enforcement, and community participation to reduce road accidents and fatalities. He also shared his vision for the upcoming future of road safety, focusing on sustainable mobility, intelligent transport systems, and strict yet citizen-friendly enforcement of traffic laws.

The session concluded with a positive note, reinforcing the collective responsibility of all stakeholders towards creating safer roads.

The Valedictory Session marked a meaningful conclusion to the training programme and left a lasting impact on all participants.
