IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation is working to boost Aviation Security in India. It is offering training in Aviation Safety Management (ASM) through a partnership with the French University L’École Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC), internationally recognized as the leading aeronautics and aviation university in Europe.
The Second Batch of this training program, which will have an intake capacity of up to 30 participants, will commence during February 2026 tentatively. The deadline for registration through the following link is 31st January 2026 - https://digitalskills.iitmpravartak.org.in/course_details.php?courseID=402&cart= / dsa@iitmpravartak.net
Supported by Airbus, this programme aims to strengthen and elevate safety education across the region, addressing the growing demand for qualified aviation safety professionals.
Highlighting the need for such initiative to boost Indian Civil Aviation Sector, Dr. M. J. Shankar Raman, Chief Executive Officer, IITM Pravartak, said, “Strengthening aviation safety requires professionals who are equipped with both technical knowledge and sound operational judgment. The ASM programme is designed to build these capabilities across the aviation ecosystem. With Batch 1 currently in progress and receiving encouraging feedback from participants, we expect Batch 2 to continue delivering strong value to the industry.”
The ASM programme is designed for professionals working in the Airlines, Airports, Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSP), Training Schools, Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organizations, and Civil Aviation Authorities (CAA). It equips Safety Managers and Safety Experts with the capabilities to lead, evaluate, enhance, and promote safety performance within diverse organisations across the aviation sector. The course content will be delivered by expert faculty members from ENAC, France.
With air transport evolving into an increasingly complex and dynamic macro-system, safety has emerged as a critical priority. While regulatory frameworks have long been in place and continue to evolve, true safety excellence requires the active involvement of personnel at every level of an organisation. Beyond technical proficiency, effective safety management demands strong behavioural competencies—communication, leadership, decision-making, and assertiveness.
The Batch 2 of the ASM Programme aims to cultivate these essential skills and empower aviation professionals to meet the safety challenges of a rapidly expanding aviation landscape. The participants of the batch 1 have also shared highly positive feedback on the overall course quality, further reinforcing the value and impact of this programme.
Key aspects of the program include:
· A Two-Year program with 4 or 5 days per Two months in-person program during the First year and 4 or 5 days per month during the 2nd year in-person program
· Faculty will be traveling from France to conduct the courses all throughout the program at IIT Delhi
· Includes a six-month project or Dissertation
· Working professionals in the Aviation industry, Senior and Mid-level managers in state authorities run aviation operators
IITM Pravartak Technologies is a Section 8 Company housing the Technology Innovation Hub on Sensors, Networking, Actuators and Control Systems, under its National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems and hosted by IIT Madras.
